ABOUT
Hi! My name is Michelle Harger. I'm a Certified Personal Trainer who has received certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and the National Personal Training Institute (NPTI). I am a Level 1 USA Olympic Weightlifting Coach, a USA Level 1 Track and Field Coach, a Qualified TRX Group Instructor, a SCW Group Fitness Instructor, a Bootcamp Coach and an Obstacle Course Race Coach.
I am a proud Bay Area native who was born in San Francisco and grew up on the coast in Pacifica, CA. I am a big Bay Area sports fan and love cheering on the Golden State Warriors, the San Francisco Giants, and the 49ers. I graduated from San Francisco State with a Bachelor of Arts in Family and Consumer Science with a core emphasis in Nutrition. I now live in San Mateo with my husband and three children. I am an active member in my community and have volunteered as both a softball and soccer coach to my children’s teams. More recently, I have volunteered as a Conditioning Coach to my daughter’s softball team and I am currently the Co-Vice President of Communications to the Aragon High School Athletic Boosters Club.
I became a certified personal trainer because I want to help people move better and feel better. I believe that movement is medicine and that everyone can benefit from physical activity and exercise, good nutrition, and meditation. I work with people of all physical abilities and fitness levels. My clientele ranges from working parents, weekend warriors, student athletes, prenatal and postpartum moms, and aging, senior adults. All of my personal training sessions are designed to meet each clients' needs and wants. I believe that personal training is truly personal. No person is the same, so no workout should be the same for each client.
For fun, I am looking for ways to challenge my own fitness abilities and have completed several Half Marathons, Tough Mudders, an Urbanathalon and several Spartan Races. In 2019, my husband and I participated in the Spartan World Championship Beast Event in Lake Tahoe, CA, to complete our first Spartan Trifecta. When I am not training, I can often be found at a softball field, soccer field, or at a track watching my children compete in the sports they love. Recently, I have started learning the game of tennis and golf as a way to have fun and stay active outside of the gym.
